Fresh produce at a farmers market

One of the things that makes Bend feel like more than just a ski town with good vibes is its deep connection to local food. And nothing showcases that connection better than Bend’s farmers markets, where you can shop directly from the people who grow, raise, and make your food.

Bend Farmers Market (Downtown)

Located in Brooks Alley in downtown Bend, the Wednesday farmers market runs from May through October, 11 AM to 3 PM. You’ll find everything from fresh produce and local honey to handmade pasta, artisan cheese, and flowers. The vendors are almost exclusively local farmers, ranchers, and producers from Central Oregon.

NorthWest Crossing Saturday Market

The NWX Saturday Farmers Market is more than just a market — it’s a neighborhood event. Running June through September in the Northwest Crossing village, it features local farms, food vendors, live music, and a community atmosphere that’s hard to beat. Grab a breakfast burrito, fill your bag with produce, and stay for the vibes.

What You’ll Find

Central Oregon’s growing season is shorter than the Willamette Valley, but the quality is outstanding. Look for locally-grown tomatoes, greens, root vegetables, berries, herbs, and flowers. You’ll also find local meats, eggs, baked goods, and specialty items like Central Oregon lavender and juniper products.

Why It Matters

Supporting Bend’s farmers markets means supporting the families and small operations that make Central Oregon’s food culture special. Many of the farms operate on just a few acres and practice sustainable, organic, or regenerative methods. When you buy at the market, your money stays in the community — and you get food that was picked that morning.

Mark your calendars and bring your reusable bags. Farm-to-table starts at the market.
